An inspiring and contemplative documentary series about modern American rural life.  A great use of photography, video and audio!

A rare music documentary in which the narrative is more interesting than the songs. (Ben Sachs)

  • THESIS FILM : YELLOW FEVER BY NG’ENDO MUKII
  • Ng’endo Mukii tackles a relevant and sensitive topic of skin bleaching. This film searches a modern take of Ng’endo’s documentation of the topic with observations from her niece, her own perceptions and experiences and some history  that uncovers the depth of this parallel thought.

These honest conversations and earnest thoughtfulness and writing makes this film such great insight into this issue.

Ng’endo is a film & animation student who just graduated from a master’s program at RCA (Royal College of Art) in London.

Down to the Final Product

On Saturday, July 7 the Through Positive Eyes workshop participants did a final group critique on the photographs they took over the past week. The objective was to narrow down their group of photos to 12 photos per person. The 12 favored photos will be featured in the final film.

As I listened to their critiques and viewed their photos, I noticed each person’s set of photos had its own theme. They all had certain object they preferred shooting or a certain emotion they wanted to capture. Overall they displayed a variety of photos ranging from black and white melancholic images to colorful landscapes. I am really looking forward to seeing the final product today.
